POPULAR TEACHER COUNTY
Taught In Schools County Twelve Years
Superintendent Couillardville Presbyterian Sunday School

Died at her Home in the Town of Stiles Sept. 6th 1912, Edith A. Leigh. Aged 30 years seven months and ten days.

Miss Leigh, reared in an atmosphere of christian influence, was one of those rare characters whose presence in any community cast about her an influence for good.

She was the fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leigh and one in a family of seven sisters, namely Mrs. O. G. Bryant, Mrs. Delbert Spice, Mrs. John J. Caldwell, and the Misses Effie, Ruby and Pearl and two brothers, Arthur and Chester Leigh.

After graduating from the common schools of the county she adopted the profession of teaching, and her work during the past twelve years has gained for her the reputation of being one of the best teachers in the county.

Loving and beloved by all who were brought within the range of her influence, she possessed that rare quality of personal magnetism so necessary to succesful work in the school room.

She was a devout christian worker and for the past two years she superintended the Sunday school work at the Couillardville Presbyterian church and taught a class. Owing to failing health, she was forced to resign her work in her Sunday School last spring.

Her loving disposition gained for her a wide circle of friends and the void left by her early and untimely demise will be long felt.

The funeral, one of the largest in the county was held from the Couillardville Presbyterian church, of which the deceased was an active member, services being conducted jointly by the pastor, Rev. J. T. Ellis, and Rev. R. J. McLandress of Oconto, her six sisters acting as pall bearers.

The floral offerings were many and beautiful, among them being pieces from the Couillardville Sunday school, the Oconto county teachers associations, R.N.A. and numerous friends.

Those from outside who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Couillard of Sagola, Mich., Mrs. Will Brooks and Mrs. Ed Jackson of Pound and Mrs. R. W. Underwood of Milwaukee
