Full military rites honoring Dayton Wusterbarth, T/5, 23, first of the Oconto Falls war dead to be returned from overseas, were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church under suspices of the American Legion post. The Rev. R.L. Greene, pastor of the Methodist church here who served as a Chaplin during the war, was in charge and the Rev. Earl Hagen, Manitowoc, officiated. Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery here.

The Pallbearers were all in uniform. They were Rueben Van Den Bush, Two Rivers; Durwood Matson, Appleton; Edward Arndt, Oconto Falls, Robert Wusterbarth, Oconto; Harland Braun, Oconto Falls, and Norman Gandt, Gillett. Orrie Magnin was sergeant-at-arms and Howard Sankey was officer of the day.

The body arrived here Thursday evening accompanied by Sgt. Leonard Greene of Green Bay, and official escort, and taken to the Flatley Funeral home. Wusterbarth was attached to a medical ambulance battalion and was killed during action in Belgium, December 17, 1944. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wusterbarth of Manitowoc; former residents of this community.
