On April 25, 1953 he married ruth Alsteen at St. charles Catholic Church in Lena. the couple has lived in Oconto Falls all of their married life where Dave once worked for the Scott Paper Co. for 15 years. then along with his brother Pat, they purchased Soulek Furniture which they owned and operated together until 1979. Dave worked for Soulek and Port Plaza Furniture, and later Montgomery Wards until retiring in 1992. he was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He also coached youth basketball at St. Anthony's for many years. He belonged to the Oconto Falls American Legion Post 302 and was an avid Packer, Brewer and oconto Falls Panther fan. Dave enjoyed his cottage, hunting with his family and hunting trips out west with his sons and other family members.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ruth Trudell; his mother, Emma Trudell, both of Oconto Falls; his children, Gary (Kathy) Trudell, Green Bay; Dale "Eagle" Trudell, Coppell, Texas; Judy (Chris) Klaus, Grand Forks, ND; David J. Trudell III, Pueblo, CO; 14 grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Eleanor Koebach, Oconto Falls; three brothers, Gerald Trudell, Mosinee; Patrick (Jackie) Trudell, Neenah; Wayne Trudell,, Mountain; one sister, Doreen (Darrill) Senn, Green Bay.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Sr. on October 25, 1992, a grandson Steven, one sister, Mary Jane, his father-in-law, Joseph Alsteen and two sisters-in-law, Sandy and Patricia Trudell.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, parish prayer service 7:00 p.m. thursday. Visitation will continue at St. Anthony's Catholic church in Oconto Falls after 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Harold Beernstsen and Patricia DeGroot, parish director officiating. Cremation will follow with burial of the urn in the church cemetery. .
