Douglas R. Behling, 60, of 140 Luby Ave., Oconto, died Monday December 20, 1999 at Community Memorial Hospital. Doug was born March 31, 1939 in Oconto to the late Wilfred and Evelyn (Ristow) Behling. Doug married Joyce Beamier in 1960, she precede him in 1994. He married Connie Schomaker on October 28, 1995. Doug worked for the Oconto Unified School District as Building and Grounds Supervisor for 29 years until his retirement in June of 1999. Doug loved working with wood and in 1998 he and his wife started B&B Crafts Doug also enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Doug is survived by his wife Connie Behling, Oconto; mother-in-law, Rita Schomaker; former mother-in-law Grace Beaumier; brother, Merlin (Jackie) Behling, Green Bay; sister, Kathy (Don Kuhr, Green Bay; brother-in-law, Bill (Peggy) Beaumier; nephew, Bill Beaumier, Jr. Doug is also survived by many relatives and friends and Tootie.Doug was preceded in death by one sister, Nona Behling.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday December 23, 1999. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Benedetto.
