Dale L. Eggen Sr., 57, of 2234 W. Creedy Road, Beloit, WI, died at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 13, 1999.
He was born July 11,1941, in Brodhead, Newark Township, WI, the son of Elmer and Gertie Mahlam Eggen. Dale married Mona Donovan Hammel on August 25, 1984 in Beloit.
Dale was employed by Dana Corporation-Warner Electric, from June 1959 to July 1998, as a tool and die maker. He was a member of Star Zenith Boat Club. Dale was an avid hunter, fisherman, and Minnesota Viking fan. He enjoyed boating, bowling, trap shooting, Nascar racing, and played softball for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Mona; son, Dale (Judy Eggen Jr. of Edgerton, WI; three daughters, Sally (David) Ramsey Sr. of Beloit, Deborah (Steven) Hahn of Clinton, WI, and Eveelyn (Mickey) Mears of South Beloit, IL; nine grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Peggy (Pat) Kinkade of Beloit; two stepchildren, Joni (Tim) Groll of Oconto, WI, and Mark Hammel of Beloit; one brother, Hans (Peggy) Eggen of Janesville, WI; two sisters, Elvira (Happy) Olson of Brodhead, WI, and Nona Nelson of Albany, WI; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; one son, Jonathon Eggen, and three stepchildren, Dan Hammel, Tom Hammel and Patti Hammel.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Saturdya, January 16, 1999, at the Daley- Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Bill Connell officiating. Burial will be in Baldwin Cemetery. Friends called Friday at the Funeral home.
