Dale J. Tackmier, 51, of 2005 County Q, Pound, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999 as a result of injuries received in an auto accident on Hwy 41/141 in Oconto County.

He was born Sept. 17, 1948 in Marinette to Harold and Virginia (Schoenfeldt) Tackmier. Dale was confirmed at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Grover, and was a 1966 graduate of Coleman High School. He married the former Joan F. Martens on Feb. 20, 1971 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Grover. Dale worked for Witt’s Piggly Wiggly in Crivitz for 25 years and was currently employed as a baker for Copps West in Green Bay. He was a former member of the Coleman-Pound Lions Club and was Village of Pound clerk and treasurer for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Tackmier; three children, Jeffery (Rachel) Tackmier of Peshtigo, Jennifer Tackmier of Coleman and John Tackmier of Coleman; his parents, Harold and Virginia Tackmier of Peshtigo; three grandchildren, Tori Tackmier,Tatum Tackmier and Cole Tackmier; step-grandchild, Chelsie Howard; two brothers; David (Lynn) Tackmier of Peshtigo and Dean Tackmier of Oshkosh; one sister, Diane (Bruce) Urben of Oneida; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Martens, Donna Martens, Karen and Leonard Curtis, Russell and Karlene Martens, and Dorothy and Tom Berth.

He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Billy and Donnie Martens and a niece, Marnie Martens.

Visitation was held at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman, from 4:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday and then after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (today) at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Grover. Funeral services will be held Wednesday (today) at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Charles Learman officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jay Martens, Mike Weber, Mike Steer, David Seefeldt and Steven and Scott Schoenfeldt.
