Delbert H. Giese

Delbert H. Giese, age 75, Suring, died in a Milwaukee Hospital, Friday, November 17, 2000 following a short illness.

He was born in Mountain on September 18, 1925 to the late Louis and Myrtle Ramsdell Giese. Delbert served his country in the Army during WWII in the South Pacific. After the war he married Sally Smith on September 25, 1948 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Suring. The couple lived and worked in Green Bay until retiring to Breed in 1983.

Delbert was a lifelong hunter and fisherman. During later years, he enjoyed traveling. He was a member of the Suring American Legion Post, and belonged to St. Michael's Catholic Church in Suring.

Survivors include his wife Sally, his three daughters and their families. Linda and Larry Goddard of Carthage, Missouri; Debbie and Mike Forrest of Green Bay; Mary and Steve Schuetpeltz of Shawano; his two sons and their families, Bob and Sharon Giese, Tellico Plains, Tennessee; Tom and Debbie Giese of Green Bay; two brothers; Elton Giese of Suring; Elmer and LaVerne Giese of Green Bay; a sister Agnes and Richard Ziereis of Embarrass; a sister-in-law Norma Giese of Suring; a loving brother-in-law, Harvey and Callie Smith, of Suring; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many niece's and nephews.

Delbert was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester and Louis Jr., two sisters, Gladys, and Dorothy Katch, and a grandson Mitchell Goddard.

Visitation was held on Monday, November 20, 2000 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Suring beginning at 4 p.m. until funeral services at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Breed Union Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home Suring, in charge of arrangements.
