Dorothy E. Hansen, 79, Suring, died unexpectedly in Suring July 20, 2001 due to her medical condition. She was born in Gresham May 17, 1922 to the late Emil and Edna (Zimmerman) Firgens. Dorothy Yakel married Norman Hansen on October 29, 1966. She was employed at Nu-Line Industry in Suring until retirement in 1984. Her hobbies included knitting and crocheting afghans. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Norman on March 29, 1995.

Survivors include her daughter and a son, and their families. Eileen (Ron) School of Kaukauna; John (Carol) Bloomer of Papillion, NE; five grandchildren Shawn Bloomer, Scott (Cheryl) Bloomer, Janet (Ron) Hendricks, Judy (Ken) Bowers, Wayne (Angie) School; nine great-grandchildren, and a nephew.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Gruetzmacher Funeral home, Suring, in charge of arrangements. A thank you to the neighbors and friends who helped Dorothy over the years, especially Nig and Joe Whiting, Rick Edlund, also B.J. for his good friendship and help.
