ANTIGO - Dean Eklund, 74, died Wednesday, December 22 at his home. He was born May 19, 1925 to the late George and Irene Eklund in Gillett. He was a 1943 graduate of Gillett High School. He served in the Navy as a Pharamacist Mate from 1943 - 1945. He married Virginia Singer April 23, 1953 in Milwaukee. He had lived in Gillett, Milwaukee, and Antigo. From 1957 - 1991 he was a partsman and was employed with American Motors in Milwaukee and Antigo Coop Oil. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; two daughters, Deanna (Gary) Kieper of Antigo and Elizabeth (Alberto) Garza of Neenah; two sons, Mike of Wausau and George (Terri) of Vacaville, Calif., 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Georgia Wilson; and a brother Gaylor - Bud - of Green Bay.

The funeral was held Monday, December 27 at his church with the Rev. Joseph March officiating. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
