Donaven (Don) "Grave Digger" Phillips, 59, Oconto Falls and formerly of Milwaukee died Saturday, March 31, 2001 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. He was born on July 20, 1941 in Iron River, Wis. to the late Ira and Laura (Goetsch) Phillips. Don worked at Forest Hill Memorial Park, Oak Creek.

Surviving are five children: Donaven Phillips Jr., Oconto Falls; Kenneth (Susan) Phillips, Cudahy; Debra Phillips, Sturgeon Bar; Kevin Kramer, South Milwaukee; Craig Phillips, Oak Creek; 11 grandchildren and Digger Jr.; also two brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena (920) 829-6100, from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2001. Funeral Service will be held 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor James Dewar from Gillett Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be private at Iron River, Wis. at a later date.
