Doris C. Valitchka, 93, Suring died in an area hospital Thursday, June 7, 2001. Doris was born May 3, 1908 in Coleman to the late John and Lillian (Kiyo) Klausen. Doris Klausen married Lawrence Valitchka October 5, 1926. The couple lived and worked in Coleman, later moving to Green Bay for employment. Doris was currently a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Suring. Previously when she lived in Green Bay she belonged to St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. In 1998 she moved to Suring to be near her daughter.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Arthur Thielke of Suring; a daughter-in-law, Ramona Valitchka of Green Bay; her two son-in-laws, Harold Levash of Klondike, and Orbie Bodart of Green Bay; 13 grandchildren Bob, Mary, Jane, Jim, Becky, Dick, Jean, Janet, Pam, Mike, Steve, Sue, and Linda; 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence in 1968, her three daughters Ione Levash, Betty Bodart, and Mavis Valitchka, her son Virgil Valitchka, her two brothers Orville Klasen, and Francis Klasen, her two sisters Ruth Thomson and Marcella Paulu, her grandson, Daniel Bodart.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 11, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Suring beginning at 10 a.m. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday with Father William Stengel officiating. Burial in St. Leo's Catholic Cemetery, Pound, with graveside services performed at 2 p.m. by Father William Stengel. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home, Suring in charge of arrangements.
