He was born May 14, 1928, in Evanston, IL, to Carl and Mildred (Owens) Brien. Don served his country in the Philippines during World War 11 in the Army. He married June Vistine August 14, 1948, in Chicago. Don was employed in large construction as Project Manager, until retiring in 1988, and moving to Kelly Lake. He loved Kelly Lake, boating, and was a very accomplished wood carver.
Survivors include his wife, June to whom he had been married for 52 years; his mother, Mildred Brien, Florida; his two daughters and their families, Holly (Warren) Priemann, Lake Zurich, IL; Dawn (Michael) Wagner, Green Bay; his son and family, Todd (Susan) Brien, Geneva, IL; a brother, Richard (Myra) Brien, Palmyra, WI; his sister, Delores (Vern) Westphal, Florida; five grandchildren and two great greatgrandchildren. Don was preceded in death by, his father.
A private family service was held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home, Suring, on Friday February 25, 2000.
