OBITUARY EXTRACTION:

NAME & ADDRESS: Dorothy I. Dittmann, age 87, Shawano, was called to her eternal rest on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Maple Lane Health Care Center surrounded by her family.

BIRTH & PARENTS: She was born Nov. 20,1917, in the Town of Underhill, Oconto County, the daughter of the late Fred and Bertha (Braun) Bahrke.

EARLY YEARS & MARRIAGE: On June 25, 1949, she was united in marriage to Oscar Dittmann by Pastor W. A. Uttech at St. James Lutheran Church where Dorothy remained an active and faithful member, and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society.

INTERESTS - EMPLOYMENT: Throughout her life she enjoyed gardening, playing cards, baking and cooking. For many years she participated with entries in the Shawano County Fair.

SURVIVORS: Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Susan Dittmann of Shoreview, Minn., Mark and Lana Dittmann of the Town of Belle Plaine, Shawano; grandchildren, Jay (Jeannie) Dittmann of Hewitt, Texas, Rachel (James) Henning of Maplewood, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Paul Dittmann; sister, Ruth Strauss of Shawano; brother-in-law, Norman Giebel of Missouri.

PRECEDED BY: She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Oscar on Sept. 14, 1991; a daughter-in-law, Judy Dittmann in 2001; three brothers; two sisters.

FUNERAL SERVICES AND BURIAL: Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church with Pastor Ronald Raddatz officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, at Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service and after 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church until the time of services. A memorial fund for St. James Lutheran Church has been established in her memory.
