Yvonne Damp Obituary

Yvonne "Puts" Damp, 65, Oconto Falls, died peacefully Saturday evening, April 28, 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 1, 1946, in Oconto Falls, to Gordon and Marie (King) Heimke. Yvonne grew up in rural Oconto Falls where she attended pubic schools, graduating from high school with the class of 1964. Following graduation, she attended cosmetology school in Green Bay and worked for several years at Majestic Beauty Salon in Oconto Falls.

On March 12, 1966, she married Wayne Damp in Menominee, Mich. The couple has lived in Oconto Falls, for all of their married lives where they raised two children. Yvonne also worked in laundry services at Community Memorial Hospital for over 20 years. As a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, "Puts" will fondly be remembered for being a great cook and baker for the large dinners she'd make for her family and friends. She was also a good listener and friend to many.

Survivors are her husband of 46 years, Wayne Damp, Oconto Falls; their two children, Wendy (special friend, Sean Houska) Damp, Scott (Kate) Damp, all of Oconto Falls; four grandchildren, Jacob (fiancee, Angel Picard) and Mariah (fiance ,Marc Monfort) Oestreich, Scott W. Jr. and Max Damp; one great-grandson, Trent Jacob Oestreich; four brothers, Ron (Mary) Heimke, Abrams; Gary (Glori) Heimke, Todd "Doc" (Sandra) and Roger "Eb" (Terri) Heimke, all of Oconto Falls; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Jim and Lorraine Damp.

Visitation with the urn present will be held after noon Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls (920-848-2222 or visit: www.jonesfuneral.com) until the time of service. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Heykes officiating.
