Delbert A. LARSEN

Delbert A. LARSEN, 77, of 125 Elm Street, Gillett, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 1999, at Birch Hill Healthcare Center in Shawano.

The son of the late Werner and Nora (KASTEN) LARSEN was born October 8, 1921, in the Town of Underhill. He attended school in the area and worked on the family farm. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Burma, India during World War II. He married the former Irene BUCHHOLZ on Sept. 14, 1946.

She preceded him in death on December 16, 1974. He then married Delores FRAMNES on December 4, 1976 at Bethel Lutheran Church in the Town of Green Valley. He was employed at the former Gillet Cheese Co., Friday Canning Co., and for over 25 years at Gillett Cement Products, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church until 1977 when he joined Bethel Lutheran Church. He was very active in both churches. He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique engines, which he showed at shows and county fairs.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. John (Sharon) JAMES of Ferndale and Mrs. Tim (Lana) MC CARTHY of Sun Prairie; two sons, Gary (Betty) LARSEN of Stoughton and Randy LARSEN and friend, Ruth, of Denmark, Wisconsin; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) WOLF of Oconto Falls, Sandra GOHR of Appleton, Mrs. Don (Carolyn) MILLARD of Pueblo, Colorado, and Mrs. Terry (Cindy) WALLAD, Berlin, Wisconsin; three grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren.

One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Visitation was held from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Kuehl Funeral Home in Gillett and on Wednesday (today) from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, Town of Green Valley. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (today) at Bethel Lutheran Church, the Rev. Larry Lange officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
