CARL WITTKOPF, 89, DIES AT DAUGHTER'S HOME OCONTO FALLS 

Carl Wittkopf, 89, who for 45 years was engaged as blacksmith at the Holt Lumber company in this city, passed away Saturday evening at 11 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John C. Meyer, at Oconto Falls of diseases incident to old age.

Funeral services were held from the Meyer home in Oconto Falls at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. L. Schultheiss officiating. Burial was in the Oconto Evergreen cemetery.

Six grandsons acted as the pallbearers. They were: Clarence and Roland Wittkopf of Oconto; Allan Wittkopf of Florence; George Wittkopf of Fond du Lac, and Ernest and Allan Meyer of Oconto Falls.

Carl Wittkopf was born June 4, 1845 in Germany. In the year 1869 he married Louisa Ellman in Germany and they came to America on their wedding trip. They settled in Oconto, leaving here for Oconto Falls nine years ago. Mrs. Wittkopf preceded her husband in death in Dec., 1925, since which time Mr. Wittkopf has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Meyer.

The grieved survivors are two sons, Ernest Wittkopf of Oconto; Charles Wittkopf of Fond du Lac; and one daughter; Mrs. John C. Meyer of Oconto Falls. One son, William, died during the flu epidemic in 1918. A brother, William, 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive.
