Mr. Wilke was born March 15, 1870, in Germany, and came to this country about 48 years ago. He was employed at the paper mill at Appleton before coming to this community 30 years ago and settling on a farm. He had lived in this city about 10 years. His wife preceded him in death about a year ago.
His survivors are three sons, Carl Jr., Oconto Falls; Otto, Plattsburg, N.Y. and Hans, Appleton; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Bedunaly, Michigan; Mrs. Emma Halstead and ???? Wilke of Oconto Falls. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the funeral home the Grace Lutheran church at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Arlen Adams officiating. Burial took place in Woodlawn cemetery here and the casket was carried by Frank Cole, John Murphy, Richard Buss, Eugene St. Calire, Ray Hartleau and William Sly.
