Crosby (Cobb) Whitcomb, 83, 2900 St. Anthony Dr., Green Bay, died Monday evening. He was born Feb. 20, 1904 in the Town of Abrams. He was a graduate of Oconto High School in 1922 where he was very active in sports. He served three years with the National Guard. On Oct. 11, 1930 he married Margaret MacAllister. She preceded him in death May 5, 1975.

Mr. Whitcomb worked for Oconto County for 44 years: 20 years for the highway department, 12 years as a County traffic officer and 12 years as Clerk of Courts. He retired in 1971. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, and a charter member of the Modern Woodmen of America.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Earl Renquin, Sr., Green Bay, and Laura and Charles Violette, Milwaukee; and one son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Carolyn Whitcomb, Green Bay; one brother, John Whitcomb, Green Bay; one sister, Mrs. Beatrice Pecor, Springfield, Ore.; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Mr. Whitcomb was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Sally Danecki; two brothers, Russel and Lester Jr.

Friends may call at the Gallagher-Pinkart Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 - 9 p.m. Wednesday. Prayer service 7:30 p.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary 8 p.m. Funeral 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Vianney Sipulski officiating. Burial in Brookside Cemetery.
