First Traffic Fatality of 1978 Carl H Strom of R2 Oconto died when the car he was driving pulled into the path of a flat bed semi-trailer Wednesday afternoon on US 41 at he Oconto-Marinette county line.

Strom was born March 19, 1903 in Glenview Ill. He had resided in the town of Little River since 1915. He married the former Ruth Phillips on June 16, 1923 at Menominee, Michigan. She preceded him in death April, 5, 1977. He farmed most of his life in the town of Little River.

Visitation was Saturday at the Gallagher-Pinkart funeral home. The Rev Harold Aasland officiated at the final rites. Burial was in the Garden of Hope cemetery in Little River.

He is survived by five daughters, (Doris-Mrs Irvin Fetterly, R1 Oconto; Mrs (Bernice) Thaddieus Herkowski, Milwaukee; Mrs. (Lois) Robert Barkowski, Marinette; Mrs Ruby Bauman and Mrs Arlene Folding of Oconto; five sons Robert of Abrams; Vernon of Milwaukee; Roy of West Bend and Gerald and Alvin of Oconto; three brothers, Arthur, Harold and George all of Racine; 31 grandchildren and 26 great grand children.
