Charlotte Longsine Obituary



Charlotte (Scanlan) Longsine 93, Allouez, formerly Oconto passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on Friday February 1, 2013. She was born December 24, 1919 in the Town of Pensaukee to the late Patrick and Marie (Geise) Scanlan. On November 26, 1935 she married Lloyd G. "Snooky" Longsine in Oconto. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1995. She attended Greenwood School, Oconto High School and the Bellin School of Nursing. She attended many learning seminars and worked as a nurse for many years at St. Vincent and Bellin Hospitals. She worked at Woodside Nursing Home, Green Bay; New Care Convalescent Center, Crivitz and volunteered her time at the Oconto Nursing Home for many years. She also attended NWTC for interior decorating. Charlotte was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Anne's Society, Respite Care, St. Vincent DePaul Auxiliary and the vision impaired group. She loved animals, nature and being on the farm. In retirement years Lloyd and Charlotte spent much of their time at their home on Lake Naquebay. Charlotte will be remembered for her baked pies and wonderful soups. Survivors include two children Roger Longsine, Green Bay; Sharon (Ron) Moens, Green Bay; ten grandchildren Randall Schumacher, Keith Longsine, Lynn (Terry) Vaid, Michele Schumacher (Maurice Cornelius), Sheri (Gilbert) Lateyice, Paul (Lynn) Moens, Linda Haskins, Laura Champeau, Pam Naze, Diane (Jim) Hoslet; seventeen great-grandchildren Brad Lateyice, Dustin Lateyice, Crystal Lateyice, Evan Lateyice, Terra Vaid, Kaley Vaid, Shana Vaid, Danielle Schumacher, Jeremy Schumacher, Erin Schumacher, Jordan Cornelius, Taylor Cornelius, Michael Moens, Matthew Moens, Sammie Champeau, Jacob Hoslet, Jennifer Naze; two sisters Marian Bower-Younger, Denver, CO; Doris (Wallace) Schneider, Brookfield; one sister-in-law Delcian Scanlan, Oconto; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law Lauretta Longsine; two brothers Allen Scanlan, Urban Scanlan; three sisters Irene Nelson, Alice Begotki and Hortense La Rock. Friends may call at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto from 9 AM Thursday until time of the funeral. St. Anne's Society Rosary said at 9 AM. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM Thursday February 7, 2013 at the Church with Father Joel Sember officiating. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Oconto is assisting the family.
