Christine Pemberton, 74, Oconto Falls, died early this morning at Oconto Falls Memorial Hospital after a one-year illness. She was born July 11, 1888, in Calumet County; graduated from Bellin School of Nursing and worked at the Oconto Falls Paper and Power Company as an industrial nurse. She then did nursing at the Crystal Falls and Marinette Hospitals, and returned to Oconto Falls Hospital to become the supervising nurse.

She later was a private duty nurse until her retirment in 1961. Miss Pemberton was a member of the Oconto Falls Methodist Church and the WSCS there. She was also a member of the Ninth District Nurses Association.

She is survived by two brothers, Perry and Donald both of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. William E. Goddard, Oconto Falls, Mrs. Steven Lutz, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Ralph Fisher, 29 Palms, California. One brother and four sisters preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 7 pm Wednesday at the Soulek Funeral Home, Oconto Falls, until 11 am Friday at the church with the Rev. Leslie Simon in Charge. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
