Carl O. Gardebrecht, age 81, Bonduel, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 21, 2000. He was born on July 8, 1919 in the Town of How, Oconto County, to the late Richard and Mary (Schoss) Gardebrecht.

Carl served in the United States Army during World War 11 and received a Purple Heart. He worked for the Pulaski Shoe Factory for many years. He married Lucille Schultz on September 27, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church, Zachow. The couple lived in Bonduel all of their married life. After retiring, Carl worked for the Village of Bonduel. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and traveling.

Survivors include; his wife, Lucille; two sisters, Emma Heise of Suring and Rufina (Roman) Wagner of Suring; a brother-in-law, Hilbert Schultz of Zachow and a sister-in-law, Leona Klevesahl of Bonduel; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Funeral Service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, November 25 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel, with the Rev. Tim Shoup officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano. Friends may call at Wendt Funeral Home, Bonduel, on Friday, November 24, from 4 to 8 pm and at the church on Saturday, from 9 am until the time of service.
