GREEN BAY - Clarese M. Steffeck. 75, formerly of Oconto Falls, died Sunday afternoon, August 15. 1999 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. She was born August 6, 1924 In Oconto Falls to John and Rebecca (Morris) Bunker. She was raised in Oconto Falls and graduated from the local high school. On April 22,1944 she married Gerald O. Steffeek at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. Mrs. Steffeek lived in Oconto Falls for most of her life where she was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She was also a devoted sister of the Lay Dominican. Clarese was an avid quilt maker.

Survivors are her three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Bruce Tarnaski, Wendell, North Carolina; Mary and Raymond Zamanek, Sobieski; Sharon L. and John Fisher Appleton; seven grandchildren, Chad (Shelly), Brian and Craig (Lisa) Zamanek; Philip (Jodi) and Kenneth Gerald Tamaski, Amy and Kari Denissen; eight great grandchildren, Krystal, Katelyn and Luke Tamaski; Veronica, Travis, Austin, Daniel and Ryan Zamanek.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald, on May 29. 1990 and 11 brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Oconto Falls after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church with Deacon Chuck Daley, parish director and Fr. Florian Resheske officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Green Bay.
