1937 Funeral services for Charles McCourt, Sr., were held at St. Anthony's catholic church this Thursday morning, the Rev. F.J. Melchiors officiating at the requiem mass. Burial took place in the Catholic cemetery here.

Mr. McCourt passed away Monday afternoon at the City hospital, following a illness of 9 days duration. He had been in poor health, due to his advanced years, for about a year. He was born in Cato, Manitowoc County, on January 27, 1857 and had therefore just passed his 80th birthday. His marriage to Miss Catharine Pepper took place in Maple Grove, Manitowoc. Co., in 1897. They came to this community in 1907, where they engaged in farming. Mr. McCourt retired about a year ago and went to live with his daughter, Mrs. Edw. Kuplic of Spruce. Before coming to Oconto County he was a brakeman on the C. & N. W. railway.

Survivors are three daughters, Helen, Sister M. Bretta of Ayshire, Iowa, Mrs. Kuplic of Spruce and Mrs. Lester Gomber of Oconto Falls, and two sons, Peter of Indiana and Charles Jr. of Stiles Junction. Mrs. McCourt passed away about 24 years ago.
