She was born on Nov., 21, 1899 in Stevenson, MI to Francis and Jenny (Adams) LaRock. She married Floyd V. Newton on July 30, 1920. She was a member of St. Ambrose Parish, Wabeno, for 77 years and a member of St. Ambrose Altar Society. Clara served on the Board of Directors for the privately owned NuRoe Community Health Care Center. She was a lifetime member of the Nicolet Country Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include one daughter, Dolores Uphoff; four sons, Millard (Betty), Clarence (Gen), Bob, (Miriam), Jim (Viorene); 16 grandchil- dren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great greatgrandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Priscilla Newton; one brother, Arthur LaRocque.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Newton, Jr.; five brothers, two sisters, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter.
The visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Wabeno, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery. A memorial fund is being established in Clara's name. Suminski Funeral Home, Wabeno is assisting the family with arrangements.
