Carl H. Behringer, 87, of 7996 Arndt Road, Oconto Falls died Thursday, December 21, 2000 at Community Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls. He was born October 6, 1913 in the town of Spruce to the late Peter and Rosa (Hafemann) Behringer. Carl graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1932. He was married February 16, 1937 to Augusta Vorpahl and farmed in Oconto County until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Spruce.

Surviving are his wife Augusta of Oconto Falls; two sons and a daughter, Gene and Marge Behringer of Oconto Falls, Karen and Ron Christensen of Green Bay and Dale and Mary Behringer of West Bend; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Joan Behringer of Peshtigo; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and eight sisters.

Friends called at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Lena after 9 a.m. Tuesday, December 26, until time of services. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Ryan Landwehr and Rev. Warren Steffenhagen officiating. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Spruce in the spring. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena assisted the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for a donation to St. Mark's Church, Spruce.
