Clifford L. Bailey, Sr., 835 of Reno, Nevada formerly of Lakewood, WI died September 3, 2000 in Reno.

He was born in Oconto, WI on September 16, 1916 to the late Zachary and Rose Bailey. He had been a resident of Lakewood most of his life until recently when he became ill. He spent the last few years in Reno, NV being cared for by his eldest daughter and family. Clifford served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Prior to this, he married Ruth Andrews on May 30,1939. Cliff owned and operated Bailey's Garage in Lakewood for about 40 years until his retirement. He loved to fish, and play golf. When he could no longer do these sports he enjoyed them on TV. All of his children and grandchildren were very special to him, he had a way of making each one feel "they were his favorite". Our dad was very to us too, he was a kind, compassionate and loving father with much wisdom he passed on to us in many ways.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth M. Bailey; his five children, Sue (Robert) Swearingen, Reno; Clifford (Karen) Bailey, Lakewood; Dale (Karen) Bailey, Pickerel; Barbara (Steve) Belland, Menasha; and Douglas (Bonnie) Bailey, Green Bay; a sister, Mildred Stenklyft, Wabeno; a brother, Delbert (Lois) Bailey, Hendersonville, NV; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, Zachary and Rose Bailey; a daughter, Rosalie Bailey; his brothers, Elvin and Ralph Bailey and a sister, Bernice Rosio.

Funeral services were held at the Suminski Funeral home, Wabeno, WI on Saturday, September 9 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Gary Brats officiating. Friends called at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Interment at Lakewood Forest Cemetery.
