Bonnie Clausen Obituary

Bonnie L. Clausen, 66, Lena, died Saturday afternoon, March 24, 2012 at Sharpe Care following a long illness with cancer. She was born Sept. 19, 1945, in Green Bay, to Merle and Cecelia (Greatens) Kratz. She grew up in rural Oconto Falls, where she attended St. Anthony Catholic Elementary School, later graduating from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1963. Following graduation, she attended technical school.

She married Ken "Red" Clausen at St. Anthony Catholic Church and he preceded her in death in 1980. Bonnie once lived in Oconto, where she worked at Hall Abstract and most recently was employed by One Communications in Green Bay, until retiring at the end of December, 2011. Her fellow employees at One Communications were so accommodating and supportive during Bonnie's illness, even hosting benefit events in her honor. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. Bonnie really enjoyed being with her granddaughters, Bella and Abi, and loved them dearly.

Survivors are her beloved son, Ken (Alison) Clausen, Lena; one brother, Norm (Bev) Kratz, Oconto Falls; two sisters, Judy (Keith) Wirtz, Oconto Falls; Betty Kratz, Green Bay; nieces and nephews; two very special classmates, Bev Wirtz and Sharon Van Ark.

Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Kratz and infant sister, Margaret and two nieces, Debbie Woods and Joanne Wirtz.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls (920-848-2222 or visit: www.jonesfuneral.com), parish prayer service 7 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Joel Sember officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
