Chris Johnson, 90, Died; 
Rites Will Be Saturday

Chris Johnson, 90, died at his home on McDonlad st Wednesday evening. One of Oconto's oldest residents, he had lived here since coming to America from Denmark at the age of 22.

Born in Copenhagen, he served in the Danish army before coming to America. He was employed by Oconto Company and Holt Lumber company. His wife preceded him in death a little more than a year ago. He is survived by three daughters. Mrs. Martin Christensen , Oconto, Mrs. Jennie Browne, Chicago, and Mrs. Edith Porter, at home; two sons, Leslie and Louis, Chicago, 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. U. Johnson, Green Bay, and one brother, Nels P Johnson, Shawano.

The body will be removed from the MacQueen funeral chapel to the Johnson home Friday night, and services will be held there at 1:40 Saturday afternoon, and at two o'clock at the Emmanuel Lutheran church, Rev Elmer Christensen officiating. An early member of the Emmanuel church, Mr. Johnson was the third aged member of the congregation to die within a week.
