Mrs. John Larsen, former resident of Oconto Falls passed away at the home of her daughter in Inglewood, California on Sunday evening December 20th, 1942. Funeral services were conducted by Reverend Konrad Koosman at the Hardin Funeral Home in Inglewood California at 10 A.M. on December 23rd, 1942.
Born in Denmark, July 8th, 1864, Christina Caroline Johnsen came to America when she was 18 years of age, was united in marriage to John Larsen, Sept. 4, 1886 in Oconto County.
They made their first home on the old Larsen homestead, four miles west of Oconto Falls, on the banks of the Oconto River. From 1900 until they retired in 1918, they lived on a farm in Green Valley, then moved to their home on South Main Street, Oconto Falls, where they lived until the death of John Larsen June 2nd, 1934. Since then, Mrs. Larsen had made her home with her daughters in southern California.
She leaves to mourn her passing six children, Mrs. Fred Maier, Inglewood, California; Mrs. Thomas F. Carroll, formerly of Oconto Falls, and Mrs. Edward M. Lykke, of Los Angeles, California; Charles Larsen, Conogo Park, California; Fred and Edward Larsen, Oconto Falls; also eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
