Clayton 'Joe' Conrad

Clayton 'Joe' Conrad, 66, Lena, passed away Wednesday evening January 31, 2001 at a hospital in Marinette after a long illness.

For the past year Clayton resided at the Luther Manor in Marinette. He was born on March 20, 1934 in Lena to the late Henry and Winifred Pieschek Conrad. As a young man he worked on the Conrad family farm until 1970. He then moved to DePere and worked as a custodian at Shopko in DePere retiring in 1996. He was very proud of the plaque and watch that he received for his 25 years of dedicated service. He moved back to Lena in 1996. He enjoyed playing his many accordions and loved his pet dog "Snoopy."

Survivors include his twin brother Cletus Joan Conrad, Lena; five sisters, Alice Gaywont, Abrams, Marilyn Kokai, Cary, IL, Elaine Joe Kopke, Little Suamico, Lorraine Behnke, Coleman, Joyce Elery Tachick, Beaver; sister-in-law, Claudine Conrad, Lena. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Richard Conrad.

Friends called at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Lena on Saturday, February 3, 2001 from 9:30 a.m. until time of the funeral. Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. at the church with Father Frank Schrage officiating. Burial at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Lena. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena assisted the family with arrangements.
