OBITUARY EXTRACTION:
Clarice B. Heier STREI (1926 - 2002)
BIRTH & PARENTS: She was born March 30, 1926, to the late John and Beatrice (Benson) Heier in Williamsburg, Va.
EARLY YEARS & MARRIAGE: The family moved soon after to Oconto where Clarice graduated from high school in 1942. On June 2, 1945, she married Alfred Strei in Oconto and they spent 57 years on the Strei family farm in the Town of Underhill.
INTERESTS - EMPLOYMENT: She attended Marinette County Normal and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and taught at numerous Oconto County rural schools, finishing her career at Cecil Grade School where she taught for 28 years, retiring in 1988.
SURVIVORS: Clarice is survived by: her husband, Alfred; one son, Wayne of Gillett and San Francisco; brothers and sisters, Elsie Zorn, Abrams; Julian (Judy) Heier, Green Bay; Joyce (Ken) Drace, Neenah; John (Kathy) Heier, Kimberly; Harry (Marie) Heier, Appleton; Shirley (Dan) Belongia, Charlotte, N.C.; and Lloyd (Pat) Heier, Oconto; numerous nieces and nephews.
PRECEDED BY: She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Mary; and a sister, Avis (Heier) De Roche.
FUNERAL SERVICES AND BURIAL: A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Hintz with Deacon Ralph Beversdorf officiating. Friends may call at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established. The family would like to thank Dr. Sarnwick, Shawano Community Hospice and Zastrow Funeral Home of Cecil.
