RITES TUESDAY FOR CHARLES H. PLIER  
EX-FALLS RESIDENT 

WAUSAU - Funeral services were held at the Ritter-Deutsen Funeral home on Tuesday afternoon for Charles H. Plier, 88, who died Saturday after a long illness. The Rev. Martin Smith, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiated at the rites and burial took place in Restlawn Park.

Mr. Plier was born in Appleton May 29, 1876, and married Lena Kollath May 29, 1900 in Shawano County. Mrs. Plier accompanied the A. W. Pliers to Oconto Falls May 18th for the Methodist Centennial and shortly thereafter suffered a stroke. She is very ill at the Colonial Manor Nursing home, East Wausau Avenue, Wausau. Mr. Plier was a resident of the home also at the time of his death.

The Pliers lived in Oconto Falls many years before moving to Wausau. Their children all graduated from the Falls high school. Mr. Plier was employed by the D. J. Murray Manufacturing Company in Wausau until he retired.

Besides his wife, Mr. Plier is survived by two sons, Arnold W., and Charles N. of Wausau, and a daughter, Mrs. Verene Lewis of 1608 Fourth St., Wausau; a brother, Frank of Advance, five sisters, Mrs. Sue Durfee, Wausaukee, Mrs. Lena Heiser and Mrs. Mamie Lamberg, both of Green Bay; Mrs Sophia Nelson of Wisconsin Rapids and Mrs. Elizabeth Hundredmark of Milwaukee; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
