In this city Saturday Morning, Dec. 26th, 1885, Charles Hanscom, aged 81 years. Mr. Hanscom was one of the early settlers of this county, having come here in the Spring of 1856 fraom Saginaw, Mich. having only a short time previously, come from Maine his native state. His family followed him the succeeding year from Maine. He first settled on the John Driscoll farm up river afterward moving into town, where he had since resided. He leaves an aged wife in very feeble health, two daughters, Mrs Wm Brunquest of Menominee and Mrs Newton of Oshkosh, also tow sisters, Mesdames Cyrus and Elisha Folsom.
