Fred W. Pope, 75, Pensaukee died Tuesday morning in a Green Bay hospital. He had been ill for two weeks since he entered the Hospital July 2. Death was the result of complications which developed after he underwent surgery.
He was born Feb. 24, 1892, at Pensaukee and lived in this county all his life. He was a son of the late John and Bertha Pope, Pensaukee pioneers. He was married to Anna Krischefski of Pensaukee June 27, 1910. (Marriage records read 25 July from Menominee, Michigan.) He was a dredge operator for McMuIlen & Pitts, Inc., and for the Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co. for many years.
Surviving him are his wife, Anna; one daughter, Dorothy, Mrs. Eugene Scheier (Scherer) of Manitowoc; a brother, Albert Pope, Alberta, Canada; two sisters, Mrs. Clement Vince of Green Bay and Mrs. Albert Topel, Pensaukee; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Friends may call
at the John Crooks funeral home, Oconto, from 2 p.m. today (Thursday) until
11 a.m. Friday, and after that at the First American Lutheran church in
Oconto. Rev. Frederick Mai will officiate at the 2 p.m. funeral service
Friday, and burial will be in Brookside cemetery..
