Mrs. Orville (Clara) Evrard, 88, 350 Hansen Ave. Oconto, died Thursday evening, Oct. 7, 1999 at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center, Oconto, following a brief illness.
The former Clara M. DeJardin was born October 15, 1910 in the Town of Stiles, the daughter of the late Joseph and Adele (Collins) DeJardin. Clara married Orville Evrard on Dec. 30, 1930 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Stiles. The couple farmed in the town of Stiles until retirement in 1969. Clara sold Avon in the area for many years. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto.
Clara was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother. She greatly enjoyed playing cards and fishing, and was especially fond of the fishing trips with her husband Orville to Canada. Orville preceded Clara in death on July 13, 1992.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Marge, Lena; Roger and Bernadette, Oconto; Wayne and Lynn, Green Bay; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Betty and Ralph Link and Sharon and Tony Dohnalik, Green Bay; Maire and Don Weyenberg, Pembine; Marilyn Bitters and special friend Ambrose (Boots) Roskom, Oconto; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Neil and Doris Evrard, Oconto; Lee and Jean Evrard, Milwaukee; William Semrau, Oconto; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Clara was further preceded in death by two brothers Alvin and John and sister Ann.
The family received relatives and friends at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 10. Parish prayers were held at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Resurrection was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Oct.11 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Joseph Site. The Rev. David Ruby officiated. Internment at Abrahms-Stiles Catholic Cemetery.
