Carl C. Dufek, 87, Lena, passed away at home Feb. 2, 2005, with his family at his side. He was born to the late Charles and Louise (Laduron) Dufek, May 10, 1917, in Lena. He married the former Phyllis Carriveau Nov. 9, 1940, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Oconto. Carl was a John Deere Implement Dealer in Lena for over 55 years. He also served on the Oconto County Board and the Lena Village Board for many years. Carl enjoyed hunting and fishing on his land in Breed, Wis. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Lena.

Surviving are wife, Phyllis; seven children, Carol (Roger) Borkovec, Erie, Ill.; Lee (Ann), Abrams; Gary (Josie) Homestead, Florida; Thomas (Shari), Glenbulah, Wis.; Donna (Craig) Rider, Winneconne, Wis.; Kathy (Leonard) Lindstrom, Lena; Charles (Lori), Lena; one sister, Lorraine (Leonard) Steffel, Oconto Falls; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.

Carl was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Eben; and two infant grandchildren, Michael and Terry.

Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena, on Sunday, Feb. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. Vigil Services at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Monday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Lena, with Father Finian Zaucha, O.F.M. officiating.

Placed to rest at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Lena.
