Bernard V. Stodola, 79, Klondike, died at his home Wednesday evening March 15, 2000. He was born to the late George and Josephine Buresch Stodola, Sr. October 27, 1920 at Klondike, WI. Bernard married the former Geraldine Marik June 9, 1945 at the former St. Charles Catholic Church, Lena. Bernard loved life! He truly enjoyed farming, cutting wood, picking berries, polka - dancing, deer hunting, reading, going out to eat, church activities, sports of all kinds, especially Packer Football and Milwaukee Braves-Brewer Baseball. He cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren - always rewarding them $$$ for their accomplishments both big and small.Bernard was involved with many community organizations and was a very devoted member of Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Klondike.

Surviving are his wife, Geraldine; children, James Sue Stodola, Pound; Kenneth Monica Stodola, Coleman; David Carla Stodola, Lena; Patricia Stodola-Bader, Stockton, CA; Paul Chris Stodola, New Ulm, MN; Joyce Mike Spurlock, Appleton; Bill Stodola, Green Bay; Sharon Robb Lane, Oconto; Christine Baker, Wrightstown; 24 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Laddie Gladys Stodola, Coleman; Elwyn Gibby Stodola, Klondike; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Anthony 'Tony' Stodola; two brothers, George Louise Stodola; Lawrence (Mabel) Stodola; one sister, Lillian Edward Teresinski; a brother-in-law, Joseph Marik, Jr. and a sister-in-law, Emma Stodola.

Friends called at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman. The Funeral Mass was conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Klondike with Father John Hephner officiating. A Knights of Columbus Service and a Parish Vigil Service was held Sunday at the funeral home. Interment at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Klondike. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
