Bernard Peck

The community has been greatly saddened by the death of one of our sterling young men. Bernard Peck passed away Monday evening following a fifteen-day illness with a complication of diseases. His health had been poor for the past two years.

Bernard was born in Oconto on March 23, 1901 and had just passed his 36th birthday. His marriage to Miss Frances McKeever took place on May 13, 1922 and the couple came to the Falls to live in 1923. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter Doris and a son Jimmy and his mother, Mrs. Carrie Peck of Oconto. His only brother passed on six months ago.

He was a steam engineer and he was formerly employed by the paper mill here. At the time of his death he was president of the Holy Name Society of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Always considerate of others, he was beloved by many and his untimely death will be keenly felt by many. Sincere and deep sympathy is extended the sorely tried mother and the bereaved wife and children.

The requiem mass was sung Thursday morning at St. Anthony's church by the Rev. F.J. Melchiors. Pallbearers were Edw. Graf, Charles and Earl Morrissey, Archie Hayes, John Lotter and Walter Patterson. Out of town relative and friends at the rites were Gilbert Richards, Geo. McKeever, Mr. and Mrs. W. Whiting of Lena, Mrs. Elizabeth Curley, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Hickey and Frances Dorn of Marinette, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Richards of Green Bay.
