He was born June 4, 1934, in Lessor Township, son of the late Carl and Josephine (Marsh) Ward. On October 6, 1956, he was united in marriage to Beverly Rueckert in Breed. He was a member of Cicero Immanuel Lutheran Church. Bion enjoyed hunting and fishing with Pogie and Zak.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; his children, Crystal Ward Schmidt, Seymour; Douglas Ward, Town of Lessor; Shelly (Randy) Diemel, Bonduel; Melissa (Mark) Phillips, Black Creek; Audrey (Jeff) Pogrant, Black Creek; Bion Joel (Tammie) Ward, Black Creek; Craig (Tammy) Ward, Town of Lessor; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, William Marcks, Black Creek. He was preceded in death by a grandchild and a great-grandchild, a brother and a sister.
Friends called at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour. Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday January 4, 2000, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cicero Township, with the Rev. Brad Pearson officiating. Burial in Elmlawn Cemetery.
