LITTLE SUAMICO - Bernice B. Krueger Whiting, 88, formerly of 5348 Allan Road, Little Suamico, passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 1999. The former Bernice B. Krueger was born April 27, 1911, in Brookside (Oconto County) to the late Julius and Bertha (Huebscher) Krueger. Bernice married Hans Orrie Bergh on June 11, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1981. Bernice and Orrie owned a dairy farm in Little Suamico. She was an elementary school teacher in Suamico for many years, retiring from teaching in 1975.

On Nov. 167, 1989, Bernice then married Merle J. Whiting and they resided in the Green Bay area.

She was active in the Teachers Association and was a member of Suamico United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Merle, Green Bay; a daughter, Mary Rae, Rochester, Minn.; a son, Corky and Rozalind Bergh, Green Bay; grandchildren, David and Jessica Rae, Emily and Rod Steward, Patty and Jeff Freeman, Chris and Carol Bergh; two great-grandaughters and one great-grandson; a step-daughter, Beverly and Roger DeBauche, Little Suamico; three stepsons, Calvin and Pat, Dennis and Jane, Roland and Bonnie Whiting; and 18 stepgrandchilren; also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Orrie; one son, John, three brothers; and one sister.

The funeral was held Tues., Dec. 7 at her church with Pastor Im Jung officiating. Graveside services were held at Riverside Cemetery, Little Suamico.

A memorial fund has been established at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home, West Howard.
