Augusta Werth Koeppen Schlorf

1940-Mrs. August Schlorf, 82, a resident of Oconto for the past 60 years, passed away at the Oconto hospital May 13, after a two week illness. The body was taken to the First American Lutheran church this morning and funeral services will be held in the afternoon. The Gagnon Funeral home is in charge of funeral arrangements. Rev. E. T. Reiff will officiate. Pallbearers are William, August, Herman and Albert Schlorf, August Birr and Paul Pierriot. Interment will be in the Evergreen cemetery.

Augusta Werth was born October 8, 1857, in Germany, and came to Oconto in 1881. She was married to Gustav Koeppen in 1881 in Oconto. He passed away 42 years ago. In 1904 she was married to Henry Schlorf who died 19 years ago.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hattie VanAbel, Oconto and Mrs. Arthur Pfieffer, Rosendale; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Rhode, Oconto; She is also survived by four step sons, Herman, Wm. Albert and Emil Schlorf; and six step daughters, Mrs. John H. Birr, Mrs. August Birr, Mrs. Paul Draheim, Mrs. Dick Zelmer, Mrs. Howard Hess and Mrs. Paul Pierriot.
