Death.
Adam Tillmann.

Mr. Adam Tillmann, another pioneer settler, died on Saturday afternoon at the age of almost 80 years. He was born Dec. 27, 1828 in Niederscheiten, Germany, and lost his parents before he was 3 years old. Mr. Tillmann and one brother came to this country May 18, 1849 and started to work in New Jersey. While there, he injured his leg just below the knee-cap, which gradually developed into cancer, causing his death. He came to Mayville in 1852. On April 20, 1853 he was married to Louise Schaal, who survives him, her age now being 72 years. The surviving children are: Alvin and Robert, both of Gillette, Mrs. Aug. Kluenner, Mrs. Frank Brunke, and Mrs. Wm. Lenfoehr [sic] all of Mayville, Mrs. Augusta Young of Gillette and Mrs. Emilie Malone of New York. An infant daughter, Bertha, preceded her father in death.

The interment will take place this afternoon at Graceland, Mr. John Herberg speaking the words of consolation. Our sympathy is with the bereaved ones. --

Card of Thanks. (Mayville News--7/21/1908)

We hereby tender our warmest thanks to our friends and neighbors, for the many acts of kindness extended to us in our late bereavement, the death of our beloved husband and father, to the Teutonia Maennerchoir, to all those who so generously sent flowers, and lent their carriages, and especially to Mr. Herberg for kind words of consolation.
