Closser was born in the town of Grove, Allegheny county, New York, May 17, 1852, and came to Angelica in 1874, and in June 1877, was married. In 1882 he came to Oconto county, locating in the town of Brazeau and later the town of Spruce.
He took an active part in town and county affairs, having held office in both towns and served several terms on the county board. His wife preceded him in death July 13, 1933.
Surviving are six children, Mrs. C. H. Dowen, DePere, Mrs. J. F. Pecor, Neopit, Mrs. Wilbur McDougal, Oconto Falls, Mrs. Leonard Lorge, Bear Creek, Elmer and Maurice Closser, Spruce; several grandchildren; and one sister Mrs. Julia Graves, Kalamazoo, Mich. Mrs. Anna Fait, 70, Is Buried At Spruce
