A requiem mass was sung at 9:30 Monday morning at St. Mark's Episcopal church for Mrs. Augusta Phillips, 76 who passed away at 10:20 Thursday evening, October 10, at her home, 215 Scherer avenue, following a short illness. Death was cause by a cerebral hemorrhage. The Rev. Fr. H. G. Kapes officiated at the services and interment took place in the Oconto Evergreen cemetery.
The casket was carried by Alex Olson, Gen. W. M. Lee, Lincoln Leigh, Axel Hansen, P. T. Meeuwsen and W. F. Westfall. Kathleen Suhowatia and AIva Olson were in charge of the flowers.
Augusta Rost was born January 12, 1859 in Little Suamico, the third child of Federick and Anna Rost, early settlers in Oconto county. She was united in marriage to William Henry Phillips 58 years ago, on Monday March 26, 1877 by Rev. C. R. Burdick at the residence of Mrs. Wm Ackrill, this city and left immediately with her husband for Winterburn, Pa., to make her home. Returning to Oconto several years later, she has since made her home here. Mrs Phillips was associated with St Mark's Guild Auxiliary a number of years and ws an active and willing worker. She has been a widow the past 22 years.
Survivors are two sons, Charles and William both of Oconto, Two sisters, Mrs Louisa Norton and one Mrs Lina Links, both of Oconto, one brother Frank Rost, Sr, Coleman; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A daughter Lyda passed away at the age of eight years in Oconto.

Burg, Marinette; Harry and Rudolph Rost , Iron Mountain, Mich; Mrs Joseph Andie, Charles Rost, sons Carl, Vernon, Francis, daughter Genevive, all of Little Suamico, and Pete West and daughter Bonnie of Appleton.
