OCONTO- Arthur R. Matravers, 77, route 2, Oconto died Tuesday at Oconto Memorial Hospital after a two-month illness. Mr Matravers was engaged in farming until his retirement in 1965. he was born Aug. 26, 1898 in the Town of Oconto and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was married to the former Jewel Delano on June 14, 1934, at Green Bay.

She survives along with three sons, David, route 2, Oconto, Dean of Milwaukee and John of Green Bay; and three grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death. Friends may call at Gallagher-Pinkar-MacQueen funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church until time of services at 2 p.m. The Rev. John Lyford will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The Odd Fellow will conduct services Thursday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund for First Presbyterian Church ahs been established.
