OCONTO FALLS - Arnold Rasmussen Jr., 74, of 221 Sheridan
Avenue, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, March 16, 2001.
The son of the late Arnold and Ida (Rusch) Rasmussen Sr., was
born Oct. 2, 1926 in Town of Morgan. On June 24, 1950, he
married the former Gloria Schroeder in Oconto. He had farmed
in the Town of Morgan. Mr. Rasmussen also worked at Scott
Paper Company in Oconto Falls for 34 years, retiring in 1987.
Arnold was an avid outdoorsman, loved to hunt and fish, and
was a past president of the Oconto Falls Sportsman Club. He
was a charter captain on Lake Michigan, loved to shoot pool
and played leagues for years.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria; their children, Wayne and
Carol Rasmussen, Oconto Falls; David Rasmussen, Oconto; Mary
Ann and Mark Braatz, Milwaukee; Rose Westenberger, Green
Bay; Julie and Gary Effenberger, Shawano; Ruth and Charles
Maynard, Racine; ten grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha and Irving Rodefer,
Gillett; and Myrtle Rodefer, Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, John and
George; two sisters, Margaret Thibault, and Gertie Hansen.
The funeral was held Monday, March 19 at Jones Funeral
Service, Oconto Falls.
Interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
