ANONA "NONA" PETERSON SOHR

MRS. RUSSELL C (ANONA) "NONA" SOHR, 93, Gillett, died at the Gillett Nursing Home, Saturday evening, January 15, 2000.

She was born March 3, 1906, in Pulcifer (Shawano Co.) to the late Ole S. and Amanda (Rockman) Peterson. She attended schools in Oconto Falls and Gillett. On No- vember 24, 1937, Anona married Russell C. Sohr, in Oconto. Nona was a sales clerk at the former Lauermans Dept. Store, Oconto, and a nursing assistant at Com- munity Memorial Hospital, Oconto, Falls, for twenty years.

She was a member of Tabor United Methodist Church, Gillett, where she was a member of the .United Methodist Women and the afternoon circle of the UMW. She was also a member of the Gillett Chapter of the OES.

Until her mid 80's, Nona delivered meals for the Gillett Site, as well as volunteering for the Gillett Blood Drive. She faithfully visited at the Gillett Nursing Home, on Sunday afternoons, reading and sharing her church bulletins with the residents.

Nona was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister to the following survivors: Russell C., Gillett; Rollyn (Donna), Gillett; Mona Gresenz, Greenville, Russell R. (Cindy) Sohr, Green Bay; Tonia J. Sohr, Greenville; Charles R. Gresenz, Appleton; Cara R. Gre- senz, Greenville; and Eunice Lingelbach,Oconto Falls. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Nona was preceded in death by' four brothers, one sister and her son- in-law, Gary,Gresenz.

Friends called at Tabor United Methodist Church, Gillett, Tuesday, January 18, 2000, after 10:30 a.m. Funeral services were 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the church, with Pastor Skip Robertson officiating. Interment in Wanderers Rest Cemetery, Gillett. Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett, assisted the family with, arrangements. A memorial fund has been established for Tabor United Methodist Church, Gillett.
