MANITOWOC - Adolph 0. Firgens, age 73, of 1523 Dewey St., died unexpectedly Friday, January 14, 2000, while fishing at Devil's Lake, N.D.

The funeral was held Tuesday, January 18 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Officiating at the service was the Rev. Richard Miller, with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Graveside Military rites were accorded by the V.F.W. Otto Oas Post #659.

He was born June 25, 1926, in Underhill, son of the late Fred and Ida Hein Firgens. Adolph was a veteran of World War II, serving a tour of duty in Italy. He married the former Juanita Schulz, July 1, 1961, Breed. Adolph was employed at the Mirro Aluminum Company from 1964 until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved to spend time with his granddaughter, Lizzie.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Firgens; two sons, Scott, Appleton, Jeff, Green Bay; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Paul Braun, Manitowoc, Amy and Tim Braun, Cato; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Braun, Manitowoc; his mother-in-law, Esther Schulz, Suring; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer and Betty, Mountain, Hilbert and Lorraine, Anderson Lake; two sisters, Lydia Timm and Evelyn Timm, both of Breed; five brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ida Hein Firgens; one brother, Denver; one sister, Laura; his father-in-law, Fred Schulz.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, served the family.
