OCONTO FALLS – Arlene M. Wenzel-Scharmann, 81, died Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at Sharpe Care, Ltd. She was born July 19, 1919 in Oconto Falls to Frank and Julie (Exferd) Naniot. On November 30, 1940 she married William “Bill” Wenzel in Oconto Falls. Arlene lived most of her life in Oconto Falls where she once worked at the former Scott Paper Co. and later Mirro Aluminum in Gillett. She was a member of the Oconto Falls United Methodist Church and the UMW. Arlene was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Sharon Wenzel, Oconto Falls; four grandchildren, Donna Sue Wenzel, Oconto Falls; Deanne (Jeff) Wirtz, Gillett; Amy Jo Wenzel (fiancé Lyle Zey) , Pulaski; Amanda (Josh) Christensen, Spruce; three great grandchildren, Emily Marie Coopman, Alexys Hannah and Hunter Hans Christensen; one sister Geraldine Olsen, Pewaukee; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Edward and Josephine Wenzel, Vulcan, Michigan; Millicent Hicks, Iron Mountain, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William, on March 23, 1968, four brothers, Francis, Wessley, Schryl “Chuck” and Kenneth and one sister, Lucille “Red” Kobs.

The funeral was held Saturday, February 24 at her church with the Rev. Jerry Cho officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
